CALANGUTE: In a coordinated effort between Kerala Police and the Goa Tourist Police Unit (TPU), a woman reported missing from Kerala was successfully traced at Baga Beach, Goa, on Tuesday.
The case stems from Missing Complaint No. 360/2025 filed under Section 57 of the Kerala Police Act by Jaggan, who alleged that his wife had eloped with a man identified as Vishnu A. Acting on the complaint, a Kerala Police team arrived at the TPU office in Calangute to assist in tracing the woman.
Upon receiving the necessary information, the TPU team, led by PI Jatin Potdar, launched a search operation. Discreet intelligence inputs provided by PC-9086 Omkar Kauthankar, along with the coordinated efforts of PSI Sritesh Dessai and constables Nandkumar Sawant (PC-6134), Nagesh Parsekar (PC-6471), Rajat Chopdekar (PC-9397), Anuraj Pillai (PC-8815), Shivam Rathodkar (PC-8808), and LPC-313088 Siddhi Naik, led to the successful location of the woman and Mr. Vishnu A. at Baga Beach.
The couple was brought to the TPU Calangute office, where they were handed over to the Kerala Police team in the presence of the woman’s in-laws. Further action will be taken by the Kerala authorities as per legal procedures.
The swift operation has been appreciated by both departments, highlighting the effectiveness of inter-state police cooperation in handling sensitive missing person cases.
