Panaji: Raising concerns during Zero Hour in the Goa Assembly, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar on Wednesday highlighted the lack of coaches, lifeguards, and proper maintenance at the Mormugao Headland Sada swimming pool, which he said was in a state of neglect.
Amonkar urged the government to consider handing over the pool’s operations to a competent association to ensure better upkeep and safety for users.
“The pool is used by many locals, especially youth, but due to the shortage of trained staff and poor maintenance, it’s become unsafe and underutilised,” Amonkar said.
Responding to the issue, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant assured the House that the concerns raised by the MLA would be taken into consideration and appropriate steps would be taken.
