CORTALIM: Antonio Vas, the MLA of Cortalim constituency, convened a meeting with government officials and local stakeholders on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at his Cortalim office to review preparations for the upcoming festive season. The meeting focused on ensuring smooth and peaceful celebrations during key events, including the Birla Zatra (December 24-25), Christmas (December 25), the Three Kings Feast (January 6, 2025), and the Novenas and Feast of St. Joseph Vaz (January 7-16, 2025).
The discussions emphasized essential services such as safety and security, electricity, water supply, sanitation, garbage management, and traffic control. Government officials assured full cooperation in addressing these concerns and implementing necessary measures.
Fr. Kennet Teles, the Parish Priest of Sancoale Church, Elesbao Vaz, President of the Confraria, and representatives of the Yellalingeshwar Temple, Zari, Zuarinagar, were present at the meeting. They highlighted the community’s expectations for seamless festival arrangements.
MLA Antonio Vas urged all officials to ensure that arrangements are completed well in advance to facilitate a hassle-free festive season. “Timely preparation is crucial for the success of these celebrations. All stakeholders must work together to make these events memorable for the people,” he stated.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to ensuring the necessary infrastructure and support for the festivals, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the constituency.
