PANAJI: Saligao MLA Kedar J. Naik has officially taken charge as the new Chairman of the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC). His appointment marks a new phase of leadership aimed at advancing the state’s vision of Regenerative and Responsible Tourism.
Known for his administrative experience and understanding of grassroots governance, Naik is expected to strengthen GTDC’s role in promoting sustainable tourism, improving infrastructure, and expanding Goa’s global appeal as a year-round destination.
Speaking after assuming charge, Kedar J. Naik said, “I am honoured to take on this responsibility and contribute towards shaping Goa’s tourism landscape in line with our collective vision for Regenerative Tourism. Our focus will be on improving infrastructure, fostering community participation, and developing experiences that preserve Goa’s heritage while creating long-term benefits for our people.”
Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte congratulated Naik, saying, “Goa’s tourism sector is at a pivotal stage of transformation, guided by our focus on Regenerative Tourism. I am confident that under Kedar J. Naik’s capable leadership, GTDC will continue to build on our vision of diversifying Goa’s tourism offerings, empowering local communities, and enhancing our global brand as a model of sustainable tourism.”
Director of Tourism Suneel Anchipaka extended his best wishes, stating, “Under the leadership of Kedar J. Naik, GTDC is poised to accelerate its efforts towards sustainable tourism growth. His vision and experience will further reinforce Goa’s position as a global model for responsible and regenerative tourism development.”
GTDC Managing Director Kuldeep Arolkar said, “We welcome Kedar J. Naik as the new Chairman of GTDC and look forward to working under his guidance.
