PERNEM: In a significant move to support displaced families, MLA PravIn Arlekar has commenced roof repair work for 14 families rehabilitated from Mopa.
The initiative involves the installation of metal sheets (patre) on the roofs of their houses, aiming to provide better shelter and protection during the monsoon season.
Earlier, each of these families had received a financial grant of ₹5 lakh from the government to carry out repair and reconstruction work independently. However, with limited progress observed, MLA Arlekar has now taken the initiative to oversee and execute the roof repairs directly, without utilizing the previously distributed ₹5 lakh per family.
Residents have expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, especially with the monsoon fast approaching. The intervention is seen as a proactive step towards ensuring the well-being and stability of the rehabilitated families.
