FATORDA: MLA Vijai Sardesai expressed profound grief over the untimely passing of Ravi Sitaram Naik, describing him as a towering figure in Goa’s public life whose decades-long contributions to governance, representation, and social justice will be remembered with deep respect.
In his condolence message, Sardesai highlighted Naik’s journey from grassroots politics to serving as Chief Minister, holding multiple ministerial responsibilities, and representing the people across several legislative terms. “In every office he held, he sought to uplift marginalized communities, champion Goan identity, and stand up for the voiceless,” Sardesai said.
Sardesai also noted the void left by Naik’s departure, particularly in advocating for the Bhandari, Bahujan, and other disadvantaged communities. He recalled his personal relations with Naik and his family, praising his warmth, wisdom, and passion for public service.
“May his noble soul attain sadgati, and may his wife, children, extended family, friends, and followers be granted the strength to bear this irreparable loss. Good bye Patrao. Om Shanti,” Sardesai added.
