Panaji: MLA Viresh Borkar clarified in the Goa Legislative Assembly regarding his presence at the Town and Country Planning Department office along with a group of villagers, stating that his visit was part of his duty as a public representative.
Borkar told the House that he had accompanied the villagers to the office to address their concerns related to planning matters. However, he alleged that police personnel present at the premises obstructed them, which led to unnecessary tension at the site.
The MLA maintained that his actions were within legal and constitutional limits and were aimed at ensuring that the grievances of the villagers were heard by the authorities.
He further stressed the need for accountability and proper resolution of the issues raised by the villagers, reiterating that elected representatives have the responsibility to stand with the public and facilitate solutions to their problems.
