MARGAO: Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao on Sunday launched the renovation work of the Agarshala at Shree Ashtvinayak Devasthan, Sanvorcotto. The project includes painting and installation of roofing sheets to enhance the facility for community use.
The programme was attended by former CMC chairperson Dr. Laxman Naik, Assiz Noronha, Devasthan president Dipendra Naik, councillor John Dias, along with Santosh Naik, Kisan Naik and other villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Alemao said he is committed to undertaking works that benefit society. “As promised, we have launched the renovation work of the Agarshala. This initiative will enable villagers to host various programmes and events, fostering community engagement,” he stated.
He further said that development works should be identified by the villagers themselves so they can be taken up through due process. Recalling that his father and former MLA Joaquim Alemao had earlier developed the Agarshala and hall, Yuri said he felt honoured to carry forward his father’s legacy of selfless service.
Alemao also instructed officials and contractors to complete the renovation work within the stipulated timeframe to ensure timely delivery of the project.
