MARGAO: BJP Goa State President Sadanand Tanavade today said that MLAs giving a lead in his constituency for Lok Sabha elections does not mean that he would get tickets in the 2027 state assembly elections.
Tanavade was speaking to media persons after holding a review meeting of BJP’s campaign at Margao.
“Giving lead in a particular constituency does not mean that MLA would get BJP ticket for 2027 assembly polls; have held a review of final stage campaign, BJP will win both seats with top lead,” said Tanavade
Tanavade said that the BJP was committed to women’s empowerment in the state.
“We are firm on women empowerment and have given maximum schemes. We have empowered women in the last ten years. We have decided to give 33 per cent reservation to women,” Tanavade said.
“We have fielded a woman candidate in South Goa. It is respect for women,” he said.
He said that so far they have received good feedback from people. “Our campaign is doing well. We are concentrating on small meetings,” he said.
Tanavade, also expressed confidence that his party would be winning both Lok Sabha seats in the state.
“We are getting good responses from across the state,” Tanavade said.
