PANAJI: The swearing-in ceremony of former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar as Ministers in the Pramod Sawant-led cabinet on Thursday witnessed the absence of a few legislators.
Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo, and Marcaim MLA Govind Gaude skipped the oath-taking event held at Raj Bhavan. Meanwhile, Vasco MLA Sankalp Amonkar arrived only after the ceremony had concluded.
The inductions of Kamat and Tawadkar are part of the much-anticipated cabinet reshuffle.
The absence of certain MLAs from the swearing-in has sparked speculation in political circles, even as the reshuffle is being seen as a move to balance equations within the ruling dispensation.
