VASCO: Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) will soon set up wellness centres, said Chairman Leo Rodrigues.
MMC Chairperson Leo Rodrigues speaking to reporters after a council meeting, said that MMC will also stress the use of solar energy.
“We have discussed the points in our meeting today, and we plan to have wellness centres in our jurisdiction. We have got funds of around 3.5 crores for this, and we have already identified four locations for these wellness centres. The funds have been provided under GSUDA, and we will utilize these funds to set up the wellness centres at 4 different locations in our jurisdiction,” said Rodrigues.
He said the MMC is stressing the use of solar energy, and we are identifying a few sites to set up solar plants. “As of now, we have shortlisted the new market complex at Sada, and we will also have plans to have solar energy use for our Municipal building. As of now, we plan to have solar roofs for these buildings so that we can become a green energy organization that is using solar energy for its daily power needs,” said Rodrigues.
