New Delhi, Feb 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday highlighted the growing partnership between India and Brazil, expressing confidence that bilateral trade between the two countries will soon cross the 20 billion US dollar mark.
During talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Modi described Brazil as India’s largest trading partner in Latin America and said both countries are working to expand cooperation across a range of sectors.
He noted that economic engagement between the two countries has been steadily increasing and said there is significant potential to further strengthen trade and investment ties. Modi added that both sides are committed to exploring new opportunities to deepen commercial cooperation and enhance business partnerships.
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of closer coordination between the two countries on global issues, saying stronger ties between India and Brazil would contribute to the voice of developing nations on the international stage.
Both leaders reviewed ongoing cooperation and discussed ways to expand engagement in key sectors, underlining the importance of sustained economic growth and closer strategic relations between the two major emerging economies.
Bilateral trade between India and Brazil has shown consistent growth in recent years, and both sides expressed optimism that continued cooperation would help achieve higher trade volumes in the near future.
