PORVORIM: The International Greenfield airport at MOpa has incurred a loss of over Rs 500 cr in the last two years, the Goa Legislative Assembly was told today.
The papers tabled in the House by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant of the statement of Profit and Loss Account of GGIAL/Concessionaire of the Manohar International Airport at Mopa posted a loss of Rs 148.3 cr in 2022-23 and Rs 363.3 Crs. (Loss) in 2023-24.
Sawant said the his Government has extended the date of payment of revenue share to the Government from the Concessionaire of the Manohar International Airport at Mopa to 7th December 2024.
The Council of Ministers in its (XLVth Cabinet Meeting approved the extension of time to the Concessionaire for payment of Premium to the Government of Goa, from the earlier extended date 31/5/2024 to 7/12/2024 and the extension of the period of Concession from the earlier extended date 30th May, 2059 to 7th December, 2059, on account of Force Majeure event viz Covid-19 pandemic.
