MORJIM: Mandrem Police have registered a case against two employees of Zostel Morjim for allegedly misappropriating a guest’s car entrusted to them for valet parking service. One of the accused has been arrested, while further investigation is underway.
The FIR was registered on June 19 at 4:30 PM based on a complaint filed by Siddharth Jain (36), a resident of Kailash Colony, New Delhi, who was staying as a guest at Zostel Morjim. According to the complaint, on June 17 at around 6:40 AM, Jain handed over the keys of his Hyundai i20 (KA-04-MK-1295, matte dark grey) to the hotel staff for valet parking.
However, instead of parking the vehicle, the two accused — identified as Likhit Dutt, a resident of Hyderabad, and Ojib Uddin alias Shabu, whose full details are yet to be ascertained — allegedly drove off with the vehicle. Both are said to be employees of Zostel Morjim.
Police said the duo acted with common intention and dishonestly misappropriated the car for personal use. One of the accused has been taken into custody, and efforts are ongoing to trace the second individual and recover the vehicle.
The case is being investigated by PSI Jaydeep Palyekar of Mandrem Police Station.
