MORMUGAO: Tension flared at Headland Sada, Mormugao, after a man allegedly set fire to the main door of his relative’s house over a property dispute late Tuesday night.
According to police, the incident occurred between 11.45 pm on October 28 and 9.30 am on October 29, when the accused, identified as Prakash Ambekar of Headland Sada, allegedly trespassed into the property of complainant Shardha Ambekar and set the main door ablaze with the intention of burning down the house. The fire caused damage estimated at ₹1.5 lakh.
Mormugao police have registered a case under Sections 332(c) and 326(g) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The investigation is being conducted by PSI Stanley Gomes under the supervision of PI Sherif Jacques and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
