VASCO: In a heartwarming gesture just ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar on Wednesday distributed cheques to over 50 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The event, which brought smiles to many faces, aimed to provide financial assistance to those in need, ensuring they could celebrate the festival with joy and dignity.
Speaking to the media after the distribution, Amonkar expressed his gratitude towards Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant for his special support towards the Mormugao constituency. “Many people approached me requesting help, and I personally requested the CM for assistance. This event was organized with the intent to offer financial aid to over 50 beneficiaries,” Amonkar stated.
He highlighted that the funds were not only meant for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations but also to support individuals who have suffered losses due to natural disasters or other unforeseen circumstances. “We have also included people whose houses were damaged, fishermen who had their nets and motors stolen, and others who have faced difficulties. Our initiative through the CM Relief Fund aims to bring some relief and happiness to their lives. This initiative is a significant step towards supporting the local community during one of Goa’s most important festivals.” Amonkar added.
