NUVEM: Maina-Curtorim Police have booked a motorcyclist for rash and negligent driving after he allegedly knocked down two pedestrians and fled the scene without offering help.
According to a complaint lodged by ASI Suresh Velip of Maina-Curtorim Police Station, the incident occurred on October 12, 2025, around 5:15 p.m. near the Nuvem bypass service road.
The accused, identified as Lakshman Kumar Singh, resident of Consua, Verna, and native of Ramgarh, Jharkhand, was reportedly riding a Hero Splendor motorcycle towards Margao when he rammed into two pedestrians—Francisco Fernandes of Nuvem and Remetin Fernandes of Consua, Verna—who were drying raw rice along the roadside.
In the impact, Francisco Fernandes sustained grievous injuries, while Remetin Fernandes suffered simple injuries. The accused allegedly fled the spot without providing medical assistance or informing the police.
Further investigation into the case is being conducted by ASI Suresh Velip of Maina-Curtorim Police Station.
