ORLIM: A motorcyclist has been booked by Colva Police for rash and negligent driving after a head-on collision left one person seriously injured on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 1:15 PM near Goan Bliss Resort at Dessonaik, Orlim, when Joseph Jesus Gabriel Pimenta, a resident of Sambatty, Orlim, allegedly rode his Honda CB 350 motorcycle in a reckless manner. While traveling from Varca towards Orlim, Pimenta reportedly lost control and collided with an oncoming TVS Jupiter scooter.
The rider of the scooter, Mavrus S. Fernandes, a resident of Madeva Mordi near Chapel, Quepem, suffered grievous injuries to his right foot and fell onto the road following the impact.
The complaint was filed by Babiana Fernandes of Ghottnamoddi, Tilamol, Quepem — the injured man’s mother. Based on her statement, Colva Police registered Crime No. 27/2025 under Sections 281 and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertain to rash driving and endangering human life.
Head Constable Sidharth Kumbhar (HC-4550) of Colva Police Station is leading the investigation.
