PORVORIM: Porvorim Police have registered an FIR against a car driver for allegedly driving rashly and causing a road accident that resulted in serious injuries to a motorcyclist.
The case has been registered under Porvorim Police Station Crime No. 93/2025 for offences punishable under Sections 281 and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
According to the complaint lodged by Santosh Lamani (27), a resident of Candolim and native of Karnataka, the incident occurred on October 7, 2025, around 12 noon at Doswado, Socorro, Porvorim.
The accused, identified as Richard N. Dias, son of Nicolas (address not known), was reportedly driving a Tata car bearing registration number GA-05-D-9090 from Salvador do Mundo towards Socorro Church when he allegedly drove in a rash and negligent manner and collided head-on with a Pulsar motorcycle (KA-26-EG-7931) coming from the opposite direction.
As a result of the impact, the complainant, who was riding the motorcycle, sustained a fracture injury.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of HC-5649 Vivekanand Divkar.
