PANAJI: Strengthening Goa’s healthcare ecosystem remains a key priority of the state government, said Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of a Critical Care Block (CCB) at Goa Medical College (GMC).
The MoU was signed between Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation (HSCC), the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), and Goa Medical College. The project marks a significant step towards advancing what the minister described as the “Goa model of healthcare”.
“This initiative will further strengthen emergency and critical care services, ensuring state-of-the-art, accessible and timely healthcare for the people of Goa,” Rane said.
He added that the government remains committed to building a resilient and patient-centric healthcare system. “Our focus is on delivering quality healthcare with ease and dignity, while ensuring that advanced medical facilities are accessible to all Goans,” the health minister stated.
The Critical Care Block at GMC is expected to enhance the state’s capacity to manage medical emergencies and provide specialised critical care services, further strengthening the public healthcare infrastructure in Goa.
