AAP hauls up Health Minister Rane for his fakepromises. From arranging for beds to increasing testings to providing oximeter kits, everything is all talk & no action.
Over the past few weeks we have seen a rapid increase in the number of cases without any increase in the number of testings.
A week on week trend studied by us from from 26th
July till 19th September shows clearly that the average number of testing per day has remained the same while the average number of Covid positive cases per day has increased 2.5 times.
Which means the positivity rate is increasing rapidly.
Within the span of 8 weeks the active cases has risen more than 3 times from 1652 to 5408. The number of Covid deaths reported last week is almost 4 times to what was in the last week of July. From 15 deaths reported in the last week of July to 56 deaths in the previous week of September which ended on 19th September
This is why we have been demanding to increase the number of testing to 5000 per day so as to trace and isolate patients timely and stop the spread.
“If AAP & common Goans have reached almost 40,000 houses till date under ‘Goans against Corona’ campaign and performed oxygen level checkups, I want to ask Mr. Rane why have you not been able to deliver promised home isolation oximeter kits? Why are you playing with the lives of ordinary Goans? Stop making false promises & start delivering!” said Rahul Mhambre.
“May be CM Sawant has issues with our proposed 3T model, yesterday PM Modi has also asked to increase testing and tracing, If Modi ji can understand this why does CM Sawant have issues with it? Why cant he ask Health minister Rane to increase testing to 5000 per day?” Said Rahul Mhambre.
It is also noted CM Sawant played a gimmick by announcing reduction in capped rates for Covid treatment on private hospitals.” We are calling it a gimmick because Pvt Hospitals are making money by forcing there own regulations, people have posted videos on social media wherein pvt hospitals are imposing a mandatory stay of 7 days. Per day cost of Room charges are as high as ₹25,000. Pvt Hospitals are also forcing patients to submit advance of Rs. 2 lakhs before admission. All this is happening under the nose of Govt. and no action against this extortion.” Added Mhambre
Under Disaster Management Act, Govt is entitled to take over hotels and pvt hospitals. Different state has used this approach to plan for infrastructural needs to deal with Covid. Nothing has been done like this in Goa.
“What is stopping the Govt to takeover hotels and pvt hospitals and convert them into Covid facility? GMC is again full, the number of active cases in the state has risen from 1600 to 5800 in the span of less than 2 months, I want to tell Mr. Rane that the Storm is not over, stop fooling Goans, do something concrete which translates into some real benefits for Goans”. Said Rahul Mhambre.
“If the Govt is serious about providing relief in Corona related treatment expenditure, then why are they not linking the DDSSY scheme to Corona treatment? This will be the best way to ease the burden on Goans pocket”, said Rahul Mhambre.
We also reiterate that the Govt must publish Hospital beds availability data atleast in daily Health bulletins, stop being inept & start working for Goans.
