PANAJI: The Goa Forward Party (GFP) today alleged that the proposed “Mukhyamantri Gurudakshina Yojana” implemented for Teachers and employees of grant-in aid schools, wherein their salaries would be processed in online mode, is a major scam.
In a press conference, GFP Vice President t Dilip Prabhudesai said that the scheme is a scam and questioned why favouritism is done towards Axis Bank, the nodal agency for implementation.
“It is not a scheme but a scam. We question Dakshina to whom? Why to favour one private bank ( Axis Bank),” he said.
The party has demanded complete transparency in the scheme implementation.
Prabhudessai questioned why the scheme is given to only Axis Bank, why this favour and there are more than 7000 employees, and why is the data only is going to be handed to Axis Bank.
“There is a need for the state government to stay transparent in such cases. There is a need for government to tell people why Axis Bank is tied up,” he added.
He said that all GIA employees, once this scheme is implemented, will have no control over the school management, and Government will take control.
“The GIA will be called a government employee. There will be no management in the salary disbursement,” he said.
Mukhyamantri Guru Dakshina Yojana was announced in the state Budget 2023-24, under which Teachers and Employees in Grant-in-Aids Schools and Colleges of the State will be covered.
In order to do away with the Manual Submission and Verification of Salary bills for Teachers, we will now Convert to Online through Salary Disbursement Scheme.
The Directorate of Education has already issued a circular in this regard. The software is developed by Axis Bank. This will enable the DoE to ensure the timely disbursement of salary to each non-teaching and teaching staff of the institutions.
