SAL: The long-running Sal Devasthan dispute has intensified, with the present temple management accusing the former committee of large-scale financial mismanagement.
Addressing a press conference, current Devasthan chairman Meghshyam Raut alleged that the previous committee had sold temple land at throwaway prices, resulting in losses running into crores of rupees.
In a fresh twist, a recent inspection of temple assets revealed that jewellery worth lakhs of rupees, donated to the deity, was found to be fake. The discovery has raised further questions about the handling of temple wealth under the earlier administration.
Raut said the matter had gone beyond reconciliation and demanded strict action against those responsible for the alleged fraud.
The allegations have reignited tensions within the temple community, with devotees calling for accountability and authorities expected to examine the charges.
