Ponda: A multi-vehicle road accident was reported at Manaswada Junction, Kundaim, on February 2, 2026, resulting in injuries to four two-wheeler riders. The incident occurred at around 8.15 am opposite Jayesh General Store, Kundaim, Ponda.
According to a state complaint filed by Head Constable 7121 Vishant Kunkolienkar of Mardol Police Station, the accused, Aminul Hussain, a resident of Assam, was driving a Tata truck in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Kundaim IDC towards Bhoma. On reaching Manaswada Junction, the truck allegedly dashed into an oncoming Maruti Eco car travelling from Bhoma towards Kundaim IDC.
Due to the impact, the Maruti Eco car further collided with a TVS iQube electric scooter moving from Kundaim IDC towards Bhoma. The Tata truck then went on to hit two more oncoming two-wheelers — a Yamaha Fascino scooter and a TVS NTorq scooter — both travelling from Bhoma towards Kundaim IDC.
As a result of the accident, the rider of the TVS NTorq scooter, Pratik Naik, and pillion rider Pooja Naik, both residents of Kundaim, Ponda, sustained simple injuries. The rider of the Yamaha Fascino scooter, Prakash Talwar, r/o Kundaim, Ponda, and the rider of the TVS iQube electric scooter, Druv Velingkar, r/o Veling, Mardol, Ponda, also sustained injuries.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by HC 7121 Vishant Kunkolienkar of Mardol Police Station.
