Pernem: A 42-year-old man, Stephan Sio Joseph Gomes, residing at Axiom Retreat Hotel, near Panchkroshi College, Arambol, passed away while undergoing treatment at the Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim, late on Monday night.
According to police, the incident was registered at around 8:52 p.m. on October 28 upon the receipt of w/m No. 9255/2025 dated October 27. Gomes, originally from Sewri, Mumbai, reportedly complained of uneasiness and difficulty in breathing at his accommodation in Arambol.
He was initially referred to a private clinic, later shifted to Galaxy Hospital, Mapusa, and subsequently transferred to GMC Bambolim for further treatment, where he passed away at Ward 143.
A further inquiry into the incident is underway under the supervision of PSI Laximan Dessai of Pernem Police Station.
