MARGAO: The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Shubhada Dalvi on Wednesday served charge sheets to multiple accused in the high-profile Mungul gang war case. Fatorda Police submitted a detailed 624-page charge sheet naming Rashul Shaikh, Wilson Carvalho, Shahrukh Shaikh and several others for their alleged roles in the violent clash.
During the proceedings, both State and defence representatives were present. The court granted bail to one accused, while summons were issued to several others who remain to be formally served.
The matter has now been adjourned to December 4 for further hearing. Officials indicated that the case may subsequently be transferred to the Sessions Court, given its gravity and the volume of charges.
Police sources say the extensive charge sheet reflects months of investigation, including witness statements, technical evidence and forensic reports, aimed at establishing the sequence of events that triggered the gang confrontation in Mungul.
