PONDA: In a significant development in the Pratapnagar murder case, police have arrested a man identified as Sanjay Kevin, originally from Karnataka, for his suspected role in the crime.
The arrest came after a prompt and focused investigation by the Ponda police, who acted on reliable information and initial evidence pointing to Kevin’s involvement. The murder, which occurred in the Dharbandora area, had caused considerable alarm among residents of the otherwise quiet locality.
Authorities said that Kevin was taken into custody and is currently being questioned. Investigators are working to determine the motive behind the killing, and have not ruled out the possibility of further arrests in the matter.
The accused is expected to be presented in court shortly. Police have appealed to the public to stay calm and assured that the investigation is being conducted thoroughly to ensure justice is served.
According to police sources, the woman appears to be between 24 and 30 years old. Her body was found deep inside the forest, triggering immediate response from Ponda police and forensic experts who reached the spot to begin investigation.
