CANACONA: Narcisco (Nadin) Fernandes, councillor of Ponsulem ward is elected as the new Vice-Chairperson of Canacona Municipal Council.
On Thursday, councillor Nadin alongwith the CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar and other supporting/ruling councillors submitted his nomination papers to the Chief Officer Madhu Narvekar.
Thursday was the last day for filling of nomination papers for the vacant post of vice-chairperson, after the previous incumbent Paloloem-II Councillor Laxuman Pagui resigned from the chair as per pre-agreement to rotate the post amongst the rulling councillors.
Today, the Chief Officer Madhu Narvekar declared Narcisco Fernandes elected unopposed to the post of CMC Vice-Chairperson.
The rulling and supporting panel of the 12-members Canacona Municipal Council, includes Councillors includes Simon Rebello, Gandesh Madgavkar, Sara Naikdessai, Amita Pagi and Laxuman Pagui.
Canacona BJP Mandal President Vishal Dessai was amongst the first congratulate Nadin alongwith Chairperson ramakant Naikgaunkar and all rulling councillors.-
