MORJIM: The Anti Narcotic Cell conducted a narcotic raid at Morjim and have made their first arrest of the new year where in they have arrested a native of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh and have seized almost half kilogram of charas Worth Rs. 4.5 lakhs.
The ANC sleuths received a tip off that a Himachal native will arrive in Goa with a consignment of charas in Morjim area after which the ANC officials maintained a discreet watch on the suspect and on Saturday night a trap was laid and successfully arrested the suspect and have seized 450 grams of Charas from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Jawahar Singh Jibu, a native of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. During preliminary interrogation, the accused has revealed that the accused himself had cultivated and further produced the narcotics at his native place and there after arrived in Goa for further sale and distribution.
The raid was led and conducted by PSI Manjunath Naik and assisted by Head constable Cedric Fernandes, constables Amit Salunke, Rahul Gawas, Akshay Naik lady Constable Jyoti Naik and Police Driver Kundan Patekar under the supervision of PI ANC Sajith Pillai and overall supervision and Monitoring of DYSP ANC Shri Nerlon Albuquerque and SP ANC Shri Tikam Singh Verma, IPS.
