PANAJI: The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Government of Goa, is observing National Fire Service Day on April 14, 2025, followed by the Fire Prevention Week from April 14th to 20th April, 2025.
This annual observance serves as a solemn occasion to pay tribute to the brave firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
It also aims to spread awareness about fire safety measures and preventive steps to mitigate fire hazards in homes, workplaces, and public spaces.
National Fire Service Day is observed every year on April 14 to commemorate the heroic fire fighters who lost their lives during the tragic Bombay Dock Explosion of 1944.
This day stands as a reminder of the immense courage and dedication of fire personnel who risk their lives to safeguard the public from fire and related emergencies.
It also emphasizes the importance of fire prevention, preparedness, and response to minimize fire-related risks.
In line with the theme for this year’s observance “Unite to Ignite, a fire safe India,” the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services, Goa, has planned a series of activities to engage and educate the public on fire safety practices.
Various interactive and educational events will be conducted across the state to instil a culture of fire safety and preparedness among citizens.
