PORVORIM: Sports Minister Babu Azgoankar has said that fresh dates for hosting the National Games will be worked out in consultation with the Indian Olympic Association and the Union Sports Ministry.

He said that for first time in Goa’s sports history, the State Government has constructed a state-of-the art Hockey facility of international standards at the Peddem Sports Complex.
The facility houses a one and half Super Turf Hockey court and an administrative block consisting of changing rooms, medical and dope control rooms, office spaces, etc
The 36th edition of the National Games were scheduled to be hosted in October, 2020. However, on account of the Covid19 pandemic, the National Games have been postponed in consultation with the Union Sports Ministry and the IOA.
He said that no additional fees/charges or any penalty has been paid by the State Government to the IOA (Indian Olympic Association).
