CANACONA: The Torch Rally for the 37th National Games is taken in Canacona taluka on Wednesday.
Canacona Dy. Collector Ramesh Gaonkar in the presence of Canacona Municipal Counbcil Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaonkar handed over the 37th National Games Torch to the Canacona Canacona Taluka Sports Officer Kishore Bandekar in a brief function at Canacona Dy. Collector Complex for taking an awareness Rally all over the Canacona taluka. Canaocna Police Inspector Chandrakant Gawas was also present, and later police provided a safe corrider regulating traffic and others for the successful conduct of Torch rally throughout Canacona taluka.
‘‘Goa is always known for our hospitality This torch rally is not only organized by Department of Sports but it’s a celebration of the whole State of Goa to make this event of national pride, and a most successful one’, informed Dy.Collector Ramesh Gaonkar.
With the NSS Sports Volunteers taking charge, the Torch Rally was than taken to Shri Mallikarjun Higher Secondary, and the rally heaed towards Agonda, briefly halted at Agonda village panchayat, and after visiting Khola Panchayat, brought to Shristhal, near the Panchayat Ghar, before headed to Poinguinim village.and Loliem-Polem panchayat area’s , finally moving back towards the eastern villages at Khotigao and Gaondongrim villages to bring awareness amongst the people of the upcoming 37th National Games to be played in Goa. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Goa to inaugurate the same.
‘Every Goan has as role to play in this nationals. Each Goan one has a role to play, even as a Spectator, as a participant, as a organizer,’, remarked Canacona TSO Kishore Bandekar after taking over the torch.
From Dy. Collector Complex, a short rally was held till to the Kadamba Bus-Stand where every one participated and later, the NSS volunteers took over and headed to Shri Mallikarjun Higher Secondary.
