MARGAO: The investigation into the Navelim dog shooting incident has seen a fresh development, with the accused in the case depositing a second firearm with the Margao police for forensic checks.
This move comes after the complainant alleged that the first gun submitted by the accused did not match the weapon seen in CCTV footage of the shooting.
Following this new submission, the complainant has called on the Margao police to pursue the case thoroughly, questioning whether officers have searched the accused’s residence to verify if any other firearms are stored there.
On Saturday, the complainant, joined by family members and animal rights supporters, visited the Margao police station. They urged investigators to speed up the case and ensure the actual gun used to shoot the pet dog is tracked down and seized.
