Navelim: Rosary Church Ground, Navelim Hosts Navelim Sporting Club booked their place in the semifinals of the 44th Gold Silver Rolling Trophy football tournament with a convincing 3–1 victory over Betalbatim Sporting Club in the last quarterfinal.
Navelim wasted no time in taking control, striking early in the 5th minute through Noah Luis. Dickson Ragtao came close to doubling the lead soon after, but his powerful attempt rattled the crossbar. The hosts eventually extended their advantage in the 25th minute when Sherlock Dias finished with a neat placement, giving Navelim a comfortable 2–0 cushion at half-time.
Betalbatim tried to fight back in the second half. Klusner Pereira’s long-range effort in the 40th minute was punched away for a corner, while Aniston Fernandes missed a golden chance after a fine solo run in the 50th minute.
Navelim, however, sealed the match in the 58th minute as Sherlock Dias completed his brace, making it 3–0. Betalbatim managed to pull one back in the dying minutes through Aniston Fernandes, but it was too little too late.
With two decisive goals and a commanding display, Sherlock Dias was named Man of the Match, an award presented by sports enthusiast Lorry Dias.
