Betalbatim: Navelim Sporting Club pulled off a surprise 1–0 victory over Curtorim Gymkhana to book their place in the finals of the 4th Betalbatim Villagers Cup, organised by Betalbatim Sporting Club at the Panchayat Ground, Betalbatim.
Curtorim came close to opening the scoring in the 9th minute when Ryan Fernandes’ thunderous strike rattled the crossbar. The first half ended goalless, with both sides locked in a tight contest.
The second half saw an uptick in tempo but no breakthroughs until the 65th minute, when Meliston Dias slotted home for Navelim, sealing the decisive goal of the match.
Former India international Clifford Miranda presented the Man of the Match award to Sam Pereira of Navelim SC.
