Anjuna: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in association with the Communidade de Anjuna and the Village Panchayat Anjuna Caisua, conducted a Drug Awareness Campaign on August 16 at the Communidade Parking near Ozran Beach.
The campaign carried the message: “History shows addiction was once used to weaken our nation. Today, let’s stand united to defend our freedom from drug addiction.” Held under the slogan #NasheSeAzadi, the initiative urged the local community to work collectively towards a healthier and drug-free India.
The programme was attended by Inspector Mohan Rane and PSI Francisco Xavier, along with Anjuna Panchayat Sarpanch Laxmidas Chimulkar. Communidade Committee members Seby Dsouza, Denny Dsouza, and Ashvek Porob also took part.
Social worker Gajanan Tilve extended his support to the campaign, while locals including Rohan Gadekar, Ishan Agarwadekar, and Yogesh Govekar joined the movement, reaffirming the community’s resolve to fight substance abuse.
