PANAJI: Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, met with women police officials in the state and emphasized the importance of implementing these ideas across police stations to decrease crimes against women.
He expressed gratitude to the Director General of Police and his team for their contributions.
“Detections exist, but control needs to take precedence. We asked the female police officers for recommendations on efficient techniques. They suggested raising awareness at the panchayat, school, and individual levels and offering victims’ families counseling facilities as a means of assistance,” he said.
The agency has implemented specialized training programs on comprehending and preventing violence against women in order to improve readiness. These programs to raise awareness among female employees were designed mostly by senior women officers.
Sawant praised the female officers’ proactive work during festivals and their commitment to case resolution.
Together with Inspector General of Police Omvir Singh and Director General of Police Alok Kumar, women police personnel ranging in rank from house guard to Superintendent of Police attended the meeting.
CM informed that meeting agenda entailed the vital role of Women Police Personnel in solving criminal cases and offering critical assistance.
CM mentioned that he asked the women personnel to strengthen community engagement by visiting schools to raise awareness among children, providing counselling services at police stations, and actively collaborating with local leaders, such as Sarpanchs and Panchas, to foster a safer and more inclusive Goa.
