NAVELIM: With Ganesh Chaturthi just around the corner, the condition of the idol immersion site at Mandop in Navelim has sparked serious concern among locals and political leaders. Aam Aadmi Party Goa Vice President Siddhesh Bhagat has slammed the authorities for failing to carry out basic cleaning and repair work at the site, despite it being a major location for idol immersions in the area. Bhagat pointed out that the approach road is choked with overgrown bushes, making it unsafe for pedestrians, while garbage accumulation has left the site unhygienic and unfit for religious rituals. Calling the situation unacceptable, he demanded urgent intervention from the Panchayat and the Water Resources Department to restore cleanliness and ensure a dignified and safe environment for devotees during the upcoming festivities.
