PANAJI: Just like the industrial revolution, India is now going through an educational revolution, a revolution that will drive our nation as part of the New National Education Policy, which focuses on encouraging holistic knowledge of students, thereby achieving all-around growth of individuals.
The “Digital Goa Youth Summit” is a huge step towards providing the right platform for technology-driven knowledge, thereby providing avenues of employment for our youth, stated Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant speaking at the launch of Digital Goa Youth Summit organized by the Goa State Higher Education Council and Directorate of Higher Education in collaboration with Newton School at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium Bambolim today.
Chief Minister said that the Summit is one of the initiatives of the Government of Goa to provide a platform for making our youths ready for the digitally driven economy in the world.
Chief Minister highlighting the motive of the Government, said that the Digital Goa Scholarship Programme by the Directorate of Higher Education and Goa State Higher Education Council, Govt. of Goa, in collaboration with the Newton School, will provide in-depth training and upskilling in software development through an industry-oriented learning path.
The Chief Minister, emphasizing various Government initiatives towards better education and helping out students who are in need, said students have to keep abreast of schemes and programmes of the Government implemented in their interest. No one should lack behind in education is the intention of the Government, he opined.
He was happy to see huge participation of students drawn from 54 colleges from all over Goa.
The Bootcamp is organized by Newton School for around five thousand students. Among them, 350 will be able to gain opportunities. He advised the students not to remain idols but rather engage themselves in study, job, or in entrepreneurship to live a better life.
Director Higher Education Shri Prasad Lolyenkar, in his welcome address, said through this program, the Govt. of Goa has invited experts from Google, Amazon, Microsoft, zepta, Nvidia, FamPayl, and other top companies so that our future generation is industry ready.
The Director also said that this is a step towards making Goa a knowledge-driven society. It is time for India not just to provide human resources for the world but human resources that are capable of providing new knowledge. Digital Goa Youth Summit is very appropriate for upskilling youths who are not just in computer science or IT, but this event will provide a platform to upskill youths from all disciplines. The only thing that is essential is willingness, readiness and commitment by our youth, he reiterated.
General Manager Google Search India Puneesh Kumar, Co-Founders Newton School Nishant Chandra & Siddharth Maheshwari, Influencer, Comediana and anchor Ms Sukruti Chaturvedi, enlightened the Students about their struggle, success and excellence in their respective fields.
Secretary Education S. S. Gil IAS, around five thousand students from all over Goa and parents participated in the Summit.
