Prof. Harilal Menon said that this is the era of IOT, Robotics, Drones.

NEP has given lots of flexibility and this will soon be implemented in the engineering curriculum,” he added. He said that India’s digital infrastructure is well in place and India is in fact in the fore front of digitisation implementation. He said that what Goa is lacking is in Mathematics. Mathematics is the language of all disciplines.
Research is also important he said and added that GU has introduced ‘research’ as an integral or of the curriculum.
“A best teacher is the one who makes a student think. It has to be a learner centric effort rather than a teacher centric effort,” he said.
Shrinivas Dempo said that it was time to change the way we think and learn. He said that other than Mathematics. Biology was an important subject. He said that understanding the human mind and body was important in today’s digital world. With NEP, he said that we need to re-orient our students and ignite their passion.
“We also had to look at futuristic job opportunities that are being created. The NEP is brilliant but how to implement it is the challenge,” he stated.
