BICHOLIM: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Nestlé India’s Bicholim unit has constructed a toilet facility for girls at the Government Higher Secondary School, Sankhali.
The facility was inaugurated in the presence of Nestlé India Bicholim Unit Senior Manager (Corporate Affairs) Mario Fernandes, Nestlé Officer Anupa Gawade, Principal Srikrishna S. Naik, Vice Principal Leena Chari, Eco Club In-charge Shambhu Bandekar, Volunteer Project Officer Sameer Prabhu, along with teachers and students.
Expressing his gratitude, Principal Naik said the facility will significantly improve health, hygiene, and attendance among girl students. He added that such social initiatives at the educational level are crucial for ensuring better opportunities for students and play an important role in overall social development.
Speaking on the occasion, Mario Fernandes urged students to make proper use of the facility and maintain cleanliness. Vice Principal Chari also thanked Nestlé India for its contribution, calling the initiative timely and meaningful. The programme was conducted by teacher Samhita Kulkarni.
Nestlé India reiterated its commitment to social welfare and to fostering a healthy educational environment for students.
