PONDA: The new Banastari Bazaar Complex inauguration would take place soon before the onset of monsoon, said Bhoma Adkona Sarpanch Sarpanch Damodar Naik.
He said this is an old traditional bazaar, and many local vendors contributed to its existence.
He said the vendors temporarily operating at Open Bazaar would soon get shelter in Market Complex. He said Panchayat, local MLA, and Minister are also trying to inaugurate the Banastari Bazaar as soon as possible.
He said since the Portuguese era, the Banastari Bazaar has been famous among people. It provided livelihood to locals.
More than 200 vendors from Priol and the surrounding area of Ponda Taluka conduct business at Banastari, and the new Market Complex would be a boon for them and locals.
