PISSURLEM: In a move aimed at strengthening community and cultural life in the villages of Pissurlem, Poriem MLA Deviya Rane inaugurated two significant projects funded by the Zilla Panchayat.
The first was the newly constructed shed for Shantadurga Devasthan at Panshi, completed at a cost of ₹11.12 lakh.
The shed provides devotees with a comfortable and dignified space for religious ceremonies, festivals, and community gatherings. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Deviya Rane said, “When we build and preserve places of faith, we also nurture our cultural roots and collective spirit. May Goddess Shantadurga bless our villages and every household with peace, prosperity, good health, and protection.”
The second project was the renovated Mandevta Hall at Shignem, completed at an estimated cost of ₹6.77 lakh.
The renovation included repairs and new flooring, enhancing the hall to better serve the community for cultural gatherings, traditional celebrations, and social activities. MLA Rane added that such initiatives are vital to keeping public spaces vibrant, functional, and dignified, thereby strengthening the social fabric of the villages.
