Panaji: A new step towards strengthening grassroots cricket development in the state was marked with the inauguration of a Cricket Centre at Parse Citizen’s Education Society, Parse High School. The facility has been established to encourage young players and provide them with better opportunities to learn and grow in the sport.

The event was attended by GCA member Viraj Phadke, Principal Mr. Belgaunkar, along with school authorities and teachers who welcomed the initiative aimed at developing cricket at the grassroots level.
The newly opened centre is expected to play a vital role in introducing structured cricket training to students and young players from the surrounding areas. With proper facilities and guidance, the initiative aims to create a platform where budding cricketers can learn the fundamentals of the game and gradually enhance their skills through regular practice and coaching.
Addressing the gathering, Secretary Tulshidas Shetye highlighted that the establishment of the centre is an important step towards expanding cricket opportunities for young players. He emphasized that nurturing talent at the grassroots level remains a key priority and that such centres help identify promising players who can be groomed for higher levels of competition.
