PORIEM: In a major step towards improving rural connectivity in Sattari, Dr. Deviya Rane, MLA of Poriem Constituency and Chairperson of the Goa Forest Development Corporation, inaugurated a new Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) bus service connecting Parye to Valpoi via Morlem. The new route is expected to ease daily travel for residents of several villages including Karanzol, Valpoi, Honda, Morlem, Parye, and Sankhalim.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Rane highlighted the long-standing demand for this service and its importance in supporting education, employment, and access to essential services. She noted that the bus service, which had been pending for nearly three years, was initially approved on October 29, 2021, by former MLA Pratapsingh Rane. “This much-awaited bus service will bring a huge relief to local residents, especially students of Shri Bhumika Higher Secondary School, who had been facing immense difficulties due to delayed or irregular buses,” she said.
Dr. Rane emphasized that timely and reliable public transportation can play a crucial role in keeping students in school, reducing travel stress, and improving overall quality of life. “Many students were forced to miss classes or even consider dropping out due to lack of dependable transport. This initiative will make their lives significantly easier,” she added.
She also expressed her gratitude to Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho and KTCL Chairman Ulhas Tuenkar for their cooperation and support in implementing the service. Reaffirming her commitment to inclusive development, Dr. Rane stated that the new bus route is part of a larger vision to provide better infrastructure and accessibility to the people of Sattari.
