Panaji: The District Magistrate, North Goa, has ordered the temporary closure of both Mandovi bridges in Panaji on Sunday, January 11, 2026, to facilitate routine inspection and recording of deck levels.
As per the notification, the New Mandovi Bridge will remain closed to all vehicular traffic from 6.00 a.m. to 7.30 a.m., while the Old Mandovi Bridge will be closed from 7.30 a.m. to 9.00 a.m.
The temporary closures are being undertaken to allow technical teams to carry out inspection and measurements of the bridge decks as part of regular safety and maintenance procedures.
Motorists and commuters have been advised to plan their travel in advance and use alternative routes during the closure period to avoid inconvenience.
The authorities have requested public cooperation to ensure the smooth conduct of the inspection work and traffic management during the scheduled time.
