PANAJI: Collector (North Goa) and Chairman of the North Goa District Mineral Foundation Trust (NGDMFT), Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, chaired the 18th Managing Committee Meeting of the Trust to review development initiatives for mining-affected areas of North Goa.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed key proposals already sanctioned by the NGDMFT, amounting to over ₹22 crore. These projects are aimed at strengthening infrastructure, education, healthcare, renewable energy and livelihood opportunities in mining-affected regions of the district.
In addition, new proposals worth over ₹3 crore were discussed and recommended for consideration by the Governing Council. These include projects related to solar electrification, reclamation of agricultural land, enhancement of ICT infrastructure in aided schools, and capacity building programmes for farmers.
The meeting was attended by ex-officio Member-Trustees of the NGDMFT along with representatives from various government departments, who deliberated on effective implementation and prioritisation of development works.
The NGDMFT continues to focus on inclusive and sustainable development to improve the quality of life in areas impacted by mining activities.
