VASCO: NGO Goa, First led by convenor Parshuram Sonurlekar on Wednesday, demanded that the authorities immediately appoint the Main Mamlatdar and a Joint II Mamlatdar on an immediate basis for Mormugao Taluka.
In a press release, Parshuram Sonurlekar said that people faced immense hardships due to the non-appointment of Main Mamlatdar and Joint II Mamlatdar.
“Mormugao Taluka is a highly populated taluka in Goa, and a lot of people visit the Mamlatdar office for various jobs such as Residential certificates, mutation and other matters. The Main Mamlatdar and Joint II have not been appointed for the last two months,” said Sonurlekar.
“These people have to face hardship due to non-availability of main Mamlatdar as the pending work is getting piled up. These piled-up pending works forces Joint I & III to take the workload of the Main Mamlatdar and Joint III Mamlatdar. We believe that even the Panchayat elections were conducted without the appointment of Main Mamlatdar,” said Sonurlekar.
He said this has led to the complete collapse of Mamlatdar office work in Mormugao Taluka, and hence we have demanded the authorities to kindly appoint the main Mamlatdar and Joint II immediately,” Sonurlekar said.
