SIOLIM: In the early hours today, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC), following specific intelligence, arrested 24-year-old Nigerian national Chigozie Innocent Nzedigwe from his residence in Oxel, Siolim, Bardez, Goa. The accused was found in illegal possession of 1.1623 kg of cocaine, valued at ₹2.32 crore, and 106.2 grams of ecstasy powder, worth ₹21.24 lakh, taking the total market value of the seizure to approximately ₹2.54 crore.
The ANC has been monitoring individuals previously released on bail, including Nzedigwe, who was earlier arrested in October for possession of varying quantities of cocaine and ecstasy and released on bail by the court. Following his release, ANC officers maintained close surveillance, leading to today’s arrest.
The case is under investigation, and further actions are expected as authorities probe the source and distribution network linked to the narcotics.
