Saligao: Saligao Police have registered a case against a Nigerian national under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025 following a complaint filed by the Crime Branch.
According to police, the offence was registered on March 7, 2026, based on a complaint lodged by PI Mahesh G. Gadekar of the Crime Branch Police Station, Ribandar. The accused has been identified as Omorigo Friday (42), a Nigerian national, presently residing at Barroswadda, Sangolda in Bardez.
Police said the accused is currently in judicial custody in connection with another case registered at the same police station under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act.
Saligao Police have initiated proceedings to obtain a transit warrant for the accused as his custody is required for investigation in the newly registered case.
Further investigation is in progress.
